There can be a strong habit element in many behaviours and patterns of thinking. Human beings need habits. If we didn't do many things unthinkingly, we would get much less done. So we always drive the same way to the shops or to work. We follow routines to get dressed. We sit in the same place. Habits make us more efficient, and they make us feel comfortable. But habits can also get in the way. Nail-biting or thumb-sucking can disfigure hands and make us self-conscious. Other habits can embarrass us. Often these are comfort behaviours, left over from childhood. They have outlived their purpose, but our unconscious minds sometimes need help to let them go. Often we indulge in our habits without really knowing we are doing it. Hypnotherapy can quickly and easily help put you back in control, allowing you to free yourself from those unwanted behaviours. |
