Self belief is necessary to all of us. Yet most of us have our heads full of beliefs that don't help us at all.

Often these beliefs aren't tested out. We just accept that we are no good at some things, or at many things.

Our childhoods are full of instructions. Some are important - 'look both ways before you cross the road.' Many tell us how to be good. 'Good children finish up everything on their plates.' Often they can be, in hindsight, a bit bizarre. 'Wear clean pants in case you're knocked down by a bus.' Sometimes they are just plain destructive. 'You'll never amount to much.'

Beliefs like this can go on mattering to us all our lives. And they can limit us and stop us achieving things too.

With hypnotherapy, these beliefs can be simply replaced with others that are more practical and appropriate. Instead of believing that you can't pass a driving test, or speak in public, you can substitute a belief that you can do it.

And then you can practice the success. Hypotherapy will also help you to practice being successful in your imagination. This kind of visualisation is frequently used by sportsmen and women to give them that extra winning factor. You can improve your performance, whether of physical tasks such as a golf swing, or intellectual tasks such as giving a presentation, by rehearsing in this way.
